Hackney and Islington Unite Community branch believes that the current Labour Party selection process is undemocratic and divisive: it is responsible for damaged morale of the membership and affiliates which reduces the potential for victory in elections and by-elections.
We note that imposition of parliamentary candidates by Westminster bureaucrats and Party executives undermines the very essence of the Labour Party brand of Democratic Socialism.
We therefore resolve to adopt a position of full support for the revived Open Selection 2022 Campaign.
